In the instructions provided with 1.0-RC2 it states > 1] Files and directories that must be writable by the webserver: > > src/lyceum/ > src/lyceum/wp-comments-post.php > src/lyceum/wp-content/blogs/
I'm leery of setting up write access on src/lyceum as that could allow users to modify the existing files. Plus, our production environment is load balanced across a number of servers, with content being replicated to all from our staging server, so I'm also leery of having anything that is writing files to a production server.
Secondly, because I'm on a Windows environment setting write access to src/lyceum such that the server can write to the folder and then modify those documents afterwards is equivalent to just granting write access to the entire folder tree under src/lyceum.
What exactly does the software need write access for? Is it just for the initial installation, or does it need to write during normal use?
