I was writing a blog entry and clicked the 'save and continue editing' button. Then I added a new category from the 'write' page. I then tried clicking the 'save and continue editing' button again and that's when it all stopped working. The blog's main page won't open, neither will portal.php (http://www.redthreadlove.com/blogs/portal.php). Anything thing I click on will cause it to hang up and not load, just like the portal page does.
I have mediawiki on the same domain and it is ok, so its not a host, php or mysql problem.
I opened phpmyadmin and in the table 'posts', while in the 'Structure' part I see an error show up at the bottom under a table called Indexes. The error says: "More than one INDEX key was created for column `post_status`"
And for the field `post_status` I do indeed see two indexes: 'main' and 'page'. Do you think this could be the problem? I deleted the entry I was working on from the database, but none of the pages will still load. I have a screen shot of the page showing the error, I don't see a way to attach it here though.
Any idea of what to do? I don't know that the problem has anything to do with me creating a new category and changing the post's category like I did or not, but that was all that I was doing at the time.
Added later: if I wait several minutes I can view pages from lyceum again, but as soon as I try saving a post again, it locks up like that for a while.
Ok, now its working again. I didn't change anything. Yet I know I was having lots of problems yesterday. Could there have been something I did that caused the database to hang up for a long time but then eventually was ok again?
Its doing it again today - and I didn't change categories, or anything. I just clicked on the save and continue editing button and everything hung up. Anyone else have this happen to them?
Trisha-- that seems very frustrating. What version of Lyceum are you running?
If you can figure out how to reproduce the problem, step by step, that would be very very helpful. I realize that this isn't always possible and the bug seems mysterious and random, but give it a try if you could.
